Abstract
This qualitative study explores barriers and facilitators regarding medication adherence to anti-seizure medication (ASM) in epilepsy patients with a low socio-economic status (SES). Semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were used to identify these factors among adult epilepsy patients treated at the Maasstad Hospital in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The study is part of the Social Epilepsy Care project and aims to provide in-depth insight into the perspectives of patients with low SES, a population frequently underrepresented in adherence research. Thematic content analysis was performed on verbatim transcripts using NVivo.
